If you or your partner suffers from snoring, you know what it means to wake up agitated and tired. Snoring is a major problem for many couples, especially if the non-snorer is a light sleeper. Some people are forced to sleep in separate bedrooms in order to get adequate rest. There are numerous so called remedies out there, such as nasal plugs, nasal sprays, and nose patches. Some doctors even offer surgeries and sleep studies. However, many couples discover that none of these things seem to work. As a result, many people simply turn to ear plugs as a means of tuning out the noise. Snoring is a sound made in the upper airway of the throat. Sometimes it is an excruciating loud noise while other times it is a light snore. However, both can be equally as irritating. It appears the chances of snoring increase with age and with body mass. Most people who did not snore when they were younger, end up snoring once they hit their 40’s (sometimes even younger than that). Also, people who are overweight are more likely to snore than those who are physically fit. The numerous factors which influence snoring make it difficult to pinpoint the exact solution to the problem. So is there actually a solution to this dilemma? Many people are currently in disbelief as to a solution to snoring. This is mostly due to the numerous products which failed to assist them with the problem. Doctors are also skeptical and the best advice they can give is to live a healthy lifestyle. This means losing those extra pounds, maintaining a fitness regimen and abstaining from cigarette smoke and alcohol consumption. Sleeping on one’s side may also be a temporary solution, but quite honestly, that does not always work. |
