As many of you already know we are currently facing a changing market on interviews for Traveling Nurses. You have found the assignment of your dreams and have already finished the application and skill checklists. Your recruiter has sent over your paperwork and now you wait for the phone call. The wait for the interview over the phone can be stressful and leaves you questioning what you are going to say and what is appropriate to say. Here are just a few things to remember to ask while on an interview: Larger hospitals may have several floors for the same specialty. Ask about orientation into the unit that you could possibly float to. What is the nurse/patient ratio and is there any assistance on the unit? Cover any time off needed for your assignment.Remember, during an interview for a Travel Nursing Job you are selling yourself. Inform the nurse manager of any credentials, licenses, charting, etc that sets you apart from the others who have applied. Tips when closing the interview: Ask when a decision will be made and repeat that you are perfect for the job. If the interviewer says they think they will be making an offer, ask if you can notify your company to begin the next steps. Don’t be bashful about accepting verbally! If the interviewer does not mention a Traveling Nurse Job offer, then ask for the offer by asking when they think you would be able to start. This will give you an idea what decision the interviewer is leaning towards.There are some cases where you will have to make the initiative for the interview by making the first phone call.
